Do you favor ending greyhound racing in Dubuque
I think "Garbage In, Garbage Out". You have an interesting way of putting a spin on things, which isn't, in any way, supported by any facts supporting what you're passing off as evidence. As an example, I would bet that you hav NOT actually visited trainers, farms, tracks(which may or may not be representative of the care of "typical" racing greyhound rather you've chosen to exhibit your own opinion bias and not actual proof or examples what you claim so this is anyone's guess. On top of this goulash of unverifiable "abuse" you ladle a nice helping of the rhetorical fallacies of misleading vividness, hasty generalization, questionable cause, and begging the question. Unless you have some relatively strong evidence suggesting that greyhound racing dogs are neglected or abused or at least some tangible evidence, you're merely assuming a false perception without actually demonstrating any verifiable truth other than "I say so."
We get it. You don't like greyhound racing. On the other hand, I don't particularly care for the many examples of medical conditions I've seen in dogs exacerbated by unscrupulous and ignorant backyard breeders attempting to financially capitalize on the popularity of a breed without regard for any potential deleterious effects of hasty, unplanned dog sex.sex. Cowboys jerseys cheap
I've seen dogs with hip dysplasia, degenerative neurological diseases, poor structures, et cetera, have to be put down as a result of that sort of breeding program, and the number of dogs produced by this haphazard breeding far exceeds the numbers of greyhound racers by ten manifold. Yet find a ready market with John Q Public.
So, if you'd like for those in the greyhound industry to do a better job at securing the "alleged treatment and welfare" of the racing dogs, it might be a better approach to first secure your argument with strong evidence and then offer solutions.
Because, as it stands, what you're doing looks suspiciously like propagandizing to no good effect
Wow, so nice to see that the evil people who profit from Greyhound racing have voiced their opinions and think that the readers are stupid enough to believe the pro racingracing cheap Cowboys jerseys from china
comments are from "real" people and not breeders or others who profit from that horrible industry.
Honestly, I'm insulted that you all think that readers can't see through the fake comments. For example, this one: "Being an adopter of retired racing greyhounds, I totally support the racing industry" BS!!! Any REAL adopter of greyhounds would NEVER post that!!! The REAL adopters have SEEN how horribly abused these poor animals are FIRSTHAND and would never endorse an industry that treats their beloved pets in this manner! So disgusting that it's perfectly legal in thisthis wholesale cheap Cowboys jerseys china
state to keep these wonderful, sweet dogs confined in super small cages 23 hours a day. Oh, and if they don't win? These poor dogs are seen as a "liability" and a waste of food so it's perfectly ok to kill them. Where I'm from, dogs have ALWAYS been part of the family and welcome inside the home.
IMO the only reason this poll is in favor of greyhound racing is because all of the greyhound breeders and their spouses/siblings (same thing) voted no MULTIPLE times using different browsers (surprised they even know how to use a computer)
The Grey2K minions have been hard at work again, spreading their propaganda and misconceptions about the greyhound industry. Human sports are far more dangerous.
While some greyhounds do incur injuries and occasionally die, the small number that do pales in sheer insignificance compared to the dogs that perish daily in the custody of pet owners and in shelters. Greyhound racing is a vital part of Iowa's economy, just as much as farming is.
I'm glad that people are concerned for the welfare of the greyhounds. In fact, if you really are concerned, then you will definitely want to KEEP greyhound racing in Iowa. I hope you come to the same conclusion that I did, that the racing greyhound is a fantastic athlete, well cared for and loved throughout his/her career and into retirement. And, that greyhound racing is a fantastic sport, good for the greyhounds and for the local economy.
After reading the ignorant comments from obvious Grey2KUSA supporters, I want to respectfully request that racing remain in Iowa. Accusations of abuse are unfounded. The few who have been caught abusing greyhounds have been dealt with swiftly. Grey2K receives millions in donations, but does nothing but destroy. In the last 20 yrs., the American Greyhound Council (an industry supported group) budgeted $100,000 a year for farm inspections, free pet hauls, and grants to deserving adoption groups. Top that, Grey2K!
Wow, I have read several ignorant comments on this site already. I am trying to be cordial but I spent 20 years in the greyhound business as a Racing Director and ultimately a General Manager before I decided to pursue other interests. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about those magnificent animals and know what Grey2K has done to damage anything that they havehave cheap Cowboys jerseys free shipping
touched. While director I had adopted out close to 775 greyhounds to wonderful homes. I have worked with just about every adoption group in the US and to listen to the lies about the inhumane treatment of the breed is just absurd. I personally went after as many bad owners and trainers as I could during the timeframe that I was involved to make sure that the best interest of the breed was in the front. To say that their life was inhumane is such an overstatement that it saddens me that people actually listen to that. There is a place for greyhound racing and Dubuque has that place. We actually could use a few more that have gone by the wayside. Way to go Grey2K in actually damaging the humane lives of greyhounds racing and replacing that with propaganda that has actually harmed more than it has ever helped. Anytime you want to debate the subject find someone else to debate with because you will never win the argument with me.
ANd PLEASE do NOT compare a human athlete that can get injured with a dog, Humans DO have a choice, Greyhounds in kennel environments do not. I visited a kennel in Hialeah, Fl, well, the rescue with their hand me down dogs, the ones that are retired or cannot race (not injured dogs, does that tell you anything??) but not the racing dog kennel which is guarded like a military compound, to volunteer you need a special permit !!!! And really?? is that a life??? locked in a kennel with short bathroom breaks and then training???? Please. There is NO argument nowadays that can justify dog racing, other than greed, heartlessness and total ignorance. STOP DOG RACING once and for all. Go with your dog to a dog park, beach or trail and let him run FREE, no vests, muzzles and mechanical baits. You will be healthier as well.
Dogs LOVE to run, but they DO NOT HAVE to run in a TRACK just for the profit of a few. Please, don t start with that runt about Greyhound being bred o run, obviously those who raise Greys for the tracks breed them to race. My GSD loves to run as well. Please, STOP USING dogs and all those pathetic excuses to support dog racing. There are hundreds, i not thousands of reports, videos, etc, etc, cheap Cowboys jersey
of abuse, euthanization, etc. It is a good thing indeed if Iowa has tight regulations, but that does not justify the USE of dogs to race fo people to bet on, you are supporting gambling. Get revenue from industries that employ people and do not use animals just because they can. Those dogs "love" to race because that's the only thing they have learned . Let them be as pets, they are WONDERFUL, and they have the right to be pets since they are puppies, not only as retired racers. That time in history is OVER, go to race yourselves.
I think those that think that greyhounds are abused and that's a reason to end racing need to take some time to learn about the industry. Much of the old rumors still circulate and anti racing groups exaggerate and fail to update their propaganda with current data.
There are many farms and kennels with open door policies. Before you make a judgement and cast a vote do the right thing and visit/learn about them. Greyhounds are animal athletes. They love to run and to see a grey after a race is breathtaking they are all, whether they come in 1st or 8th, so pleased with themselves. And, win or lose, it's hugs and kisses from their trainers and handlers.
